Tisk Šepic Printing House

The project involves the construction of a new business facility for the Tisk Šepic printing house, including the associated external, traffic, and utility infrastructure in the western part of Novo mesto, specifically within the Livada business zone.

The new building is sited on the plot in accordance with the urban planning parameters set out in the municipal detailed spatial plan. The building is designed in a contemporary yet simple manner, taking into account its location along Straška cesta, one of the city’s main streets.

The primary, two-storey part of the building is positioned longitudinally along Straška cesta. The street façade is accentuated by a glazed main entrance that is easily recognisable, and by the north-west corner, whose circular form addresses the intersection of two streets. The secondary, single-storey part of the building is set behind the primary volume and is connected to the courtyard.

The junction of the two production bays, executed in a prefabricated reinforced-concrete structure, is planned as a conventionally built two-storey reinforced-concrete corner, concentrating the service and administrative areas, which open towards the green roof of the ground-floor part of the building. A canopy is planned along the entire southern side, visually linking the single- and two-storey parts of the building and, with its circular termination, emphasising the entrance to the building.

The external space follows the function of the building. Towards the perimeter streets, it is designed in an urban manner, with an avenue of trees and landscaped paved green areas. The courtyard is divided into two parts: the first is intended for parking and manoeuvring and is predominantly paved, while the second is intended for employee socialising and outdoor training and is landscaped and equipped with urban furniture.
