Preparation of expert bases for guiding settlement development and defining settlement planning areas in the Municipality of Vrhnika

The expert bases for guiding settlement development in the Municipality of Vrhnika, including the definition of the boundaries of settlement planning areas, areas for long-term development and other planning areas, as well as dispersed settlement, are among the key expert bases for preparing amendments and supplements to the Municipal Spatial Plan.

The expert base for the Municipality of Vrhnika is one of the first examples of this type of assignment in Slovenia, prepared even before the announced recommendations of the competent ministry, which will support municipalities and plan preparers. As such, the assignment posed particular challenges, primarily in terms of methodology, interpretation of legislation, and the related implications of defining the boundaries of settlement areas.
