Municipal Integrated Transport Strategy (OCPS)
The Municipal Integrated Transport Strategy (OCPS) is a strategic document and a key tool for a new approach to transport planning, with an emphasis on measures to promote sustainable mobility.
Its purpose is to address transport challenges by introducing long-term, strategic, and sustainable solutions in the field of transport management, particularly those that provide easier and safer conditions for pedestrians and cyclists, encourage the use of public passenger transport, enable a more pleasant experience, create a friendlier public space, and improve the quality of life. It takes into account professional guidelines, as well as the needs of residents and various communities, and the development potential of the municipality.
In November 2023, the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy published a public tender for the co-financing of municipal integrated transport strategies within the framework of the European Cohesion Policy Program for the 2021-2027 period. Ljubljanski urbanistični zavod d.d., in partnership with the Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region (RRA LUR) and the Institute for Spatial Policies (IPoP), has secured contracts for the preparation of municipal integrated transport strategies for two major Slovenian city municipalities and several municipalities within the Ljubljana Urban Region. Within the production partnership, Ljubljanski urbanistični zavod d.d. has taken over the content related to transport planning and transport infrastructure, as well as the preparation and design of the integrated transport strategy documents.
To ensure more effective communication with the public, a digital web platform was established for interactive reviewing and the collection of challenges and suggestions regarding specific measures that, in the user’s opinion, would improve transport safety and efficiency within the municipality.
