LUZ at the 5th symposium “Challenges in the Consulting Engineering Industry”

Last Friday, we took part in the fifth professional symposium “Challenges in the Consulting Engineering Industry” at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, featuring numerous speakers from the construction and engineering sectors.

This year’s symposium primarily addressed the mismatch between the recovery of the construction sector, which generates substantial revenues, and consulting engineering, which cannot keep pace. Consulting engineering faces lower added value, a lack of development incentives, underpaid staff, and declining competitiveness, which in the long term affects the quality and effectiveness of the entire investment process.

Among others, the attendees were addressed by the President of the Association for Consulting Engineering, Tadej Pfajfar, who called for tackling the issues described above. At the expert panel, the Chief Executive Officer of LUZ, d.d., also presented his contribution entitled “The complexity of spatial planning under a fixed price for engineering services”Jure Zavrtanik.

We are aware that continuous progress also brings changes, which can consequently come at a (literally) high cost. Therefore, such symposia provide an important forum for discussion and for jointly seeking effective solutions within the industry.
