Post-flood Restoration

At the end of summer 2023, Slovenia was hit by severe floods, and the restoration of the consequences in various parts of the country is still ongoing; LUZ also contributed to the design of some of the restoration works.

Near the houses in Selo nad Polhovim Gradcem, the Mala Božna stream in Petačev graben reached exceptional flow rates and caused extensive and devastating flooding over approximately a 240-meter-long section. The damage caused is visible on the surrounding banks and on the plots of existing residential houses.

The restoration of all old, dilapidated, and damaged structures in the area is planned, including the construction of river walls and bank protection, bank management, riverbed stabilization, and the construction of a new dam on its tributary.
